WELLINGTON, Fla. Juveniles fled as gunshots were allegedly heard during a response to a reported person with a gun at the Olympia community in Wellington on Halloween night.
At around 9:45 p.m., the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) said deputies responded to a call from Olympia security reporting a person with a gun at the clubhouse at Fatio Boulevard and Shearson Boulevard. However, when deputies arrived it was discovered it was only a verbal altercation, as confirmed by juveniles and security personnel on the scene. Additionally, deputies spoke with off-duty Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) officers who confirmed the incident was purely verbal and did not involve any weapons.
While still on the scene, PBSO said deputies received another report of a physical altercation among a group of juveniles nearby. As they searched the area, deputies reported hearing gunshots, whished caused crowds of juveniles to flee the area. Despite the commotion, PBSO said there were no reported injuries or victims found.

Additional deputies were dispatched to manage the crowd and search for potential victims, witnesses, and evidence. A witness reported seeing several juveniles fighting at the intersection and, while attempting to record the incident on his cellphone, heard two gunshots but did not see a shooter or a firearm.
